Dr. Haleem, currently serving as the Chair-Elect of the Young Physicians' Committee in the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, moderated the Resident Scholar Pre-meeting Course with 80 attendees from residency programs from all over the USA.

CHICAGO — At the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Annual Meeting, Zackary P. Burrow, MD and Amgad M. Haleem, MD, PhD, spoke about a study that looked at patient-reported opioid consumption after outpatient foot and ankle surgery. They found they were prescribing patients more opioids than they needed. Patients did not need about one-third of opioids they were prescribed.
